QUALIFIES FOR TAX CREDIT!

QUALIFIES FOR TAX CREDIT!

Federal Energy Tax Credit

Homeowners can claim 30% of the costs (up to a $1,500 limit) for the installation of higher efficiency equipment, including air source heat pumps, in tax years 2009 and 2010.  The tax credit applies to the installed costs of the qualified equipment, which includes labor.

Qualifying Products
For minisplit heat pumps to qualify for this credit, they must meet specific criteria:

SEER

EER

HSPF

Qualifying Fujitsu Systems

15.0

12.5

8.5

9RLQ, 12RLQ, 9RLS, 12RLS, 15RLQ

The $1,500 limit applies to many types of energy efficient home improvements, including windows and doors, roofing shingles, and insulation. The homeowner may only claim $1,500 in total for any improvements and can choose to use the entire credit toward the installation of once appliance.

Rebates

As much as half of the energy used in your home goes to heating and cooling. So making smart decisions about your home's heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) system can have a big affect on your utility bills — and your comfort.

To encourage customers to buy energy efficient products, many local utility companies offer rebates on qualified products. Some utility companies offer up to $600 back for the purchase of a ductless mini-split system.

Energy Star® Qualified Systems

If your HVAC equipment is more than 10 years old or not keeping your house comfortable, you should have it looked at by SUNDANCE Energy technician.

If it is not performing efficiently or needs upgrading, consider replacing it with a unit that has earned the ENERGY STAR®.

Installed correctly, these high-efficiency heating and cooling units can save up to 20% on heating and cooling costs. But before you invest in a new HVAC system, make sure that you have addressed the big air leaks in your house and the duct system. Sometimes, these are the real sources of problems rather than your HVAC equipment.

The following Fujitsu models meet special criteria and are Energy Star® Qualified:

2008 Systems:

9CQ, 9RQ, 9RLQ, 12RLQ, 15RLQ, Dual Zone 9+9 Wall Mount

2009 Systems:

9RL, 9RLS, 12RL, 12RLS, 15RLQ, Dual Zone 9+9 Wall Mount
and Dual Zone 9+9 Compact Cassette

Proper
sizing and installation of equipment is critical to achieve optimal performance.  Split system air conditioners and heat pumps must be matched with appropriate coil components to meet ENERGY STAR criteria.
