The Select® Direct-Vent design is Flammable Vapor Ignition Resistant (FVIR) compliant, with a one-pipe, dual channel closed-combustion system that draws all make-up air from outside the home, eliminating problems caused by insufficient indoor ventilation. Horizontal air intake and venting on all models are permitted up to 80" from an outside wall, with no electrical power needed.
The units's diffuser dip tube reduces lime and sediment buildup, maximizing hot water output. The tube is made of State PEXAN™, a cross-link PEX polymer that can withstand long-term exposure to water temperatures up to 400ºF.
The Green Choice™ Eco-Friendly Gas Burner is a patented design which helps reduce NOx emissions and complies with Southern California and Texas requirements. The Select® Direct-Vent's has a durable brass tamper-resistant drain valve and a glasslined tank, providing for long-lasting protection against rust and corrosion.
